CIR is proud to announce that we’ve joined the Consumer Code for New Homes (CCNH). As a registered Code User, CIR will support the CCNH’s efforts to raise standards within the construction industry, with structural warranties that deliver peace of mind for consumers and developers.
WHAT IS THE CONSUMER CODE FOR NEW HOMES (CCNH)?
The Consumer Code for New Homes (CCNH), approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, is a Consumer Code that ensures best practices are followed by registered developers concerning the marketing, selling and after sales of new homes.
Joining the Consumer Code for New Homes as a Code User adds further weight to the exemplary standards of CIR’s structural warranties, cementing our position as a specialist insurance provider to the UK’s new home market and a champion of consumer rights.
CIR JOINS CONSUMER CODE AS CODE USER
Oliver Griffiths, Divisional Director at CIR said: “The Code ensures best practice is followed by registered developers and this is something that very much aligns with our values at CIR.
“We look forward to continuing our work with registered developers alongside the CCNH to maintain the highest standards for the new home market.
“Obtaining Code User status underlines CIR’s steadfast commitment to consumer protection and ensures our clients can build from foundation to finish with confidence,” he added.
PEACE OF MIND FOR DEVELOPERS AND OWNERS
CIR’s structural warranties, also known as ‘latent defects insurance’, are designed for the residential and commercial markets. Underpinned by a transparent, straightforward underwriting process, our warranties shield stakeholders from the financial burdens of construction-related defects.
Oliver added: “CIR structural warranties offer peace of mind to developers, builders, and property owners alike. Our specialist insurance products ensure that their investments are protected from construction-related damages, defects, and related repair costs.
“As a result, our structural warranties are trusted by clients across a broad range of sectors within the housing industry. This includes everything from new build homes to social housing, commercial schemes and purpose-built student accommodation, to name but a few.”
As well as being a Code User, CIR is also an Associate Member of UK Finance. This places the firm on an approved list of structural warranty providers that support banks, building societies, and funders with finance, funding, and mortgages in both the residential and commercial markets.
